391 is in the beginning stages of creating a "Retirement"
Committee. Its purpose is to help any upcoming and future
'retirees' to obtain a head start on their preparation for
retirement from State Service. Our goal is to provide sources
of information for our Members to utilize to educate themselves
as to what needs to be done as far as paperwork; get answers
to their retirement questions; and achieve for themselves
a thorough understanding of the 'retiree' health benefits
they are entitled to. To this extent, below are the first
informational sources to be offered including a very useful
checklist. Also provided is a direct link to the State Comptrollers
Home page. By utilizing this information, we feel that you
should be well on your way to a smoother and less stressful
retirement process. However, as we stated earlier, this program
is only in its infancy stage. This being the case, it is highly
recommended that you check back often for any new provisions
that may have been added for your review and use as a valued
Member of Local 391 and a 'Retiree' of the Future.
NOTE:
We are still waiting for an up to date schedule of sessions.
